Srinagar, Jun 04 (KNO): Peoples Conference president Sajad Gani Lone on Wednesday said that it would be the eighth wonder of the world if the cabinet sub-committee, constituted by the J&K government to rationalise the existing reservation policy, were to present any concrete suggestions to resolve the issue. Addressing a news conference here, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Lone said that he doesn’t expect government will come up with some concrete solution to the issue. “The question of resolving reservation is beyond the comprehension and intellect—if any exists—of the present government. It would be an eighth wonder of the world if they managed to come up with something (concrete),” he said. He said the present government would either come up with an ambiguous report or form another committee. Lone termed Congress and PDP demand for political reservation for Kashmiri Pandits as “political stunt”. “I support the move but why they didn’t grant them political reservation when they were in power. This politics has to end. It makes a mockery of these issues,” he said. On the termination of employees over alleged militancy links, Lone said such actions have been taking place for the past three decades and have not yielded any result. Lone said elected government is invisible on the ground. “There are no visible efforts to address real issues of people. Transferring employees based on political preferences has become routine,” he said. He said the people who were voted into power are not delivering. “There is no development. Review meetings are being held but nothing happens on the ground. The government is not focusing on people’s welfare,” he added. On the occasion, AIP leaders Tahir Mehmood, Mudasir Rasool, Rouf Ahmed Padder, Tanzeel Ahmed and Bilal Ahmad joined PC—(KNO)
